About the Repository
The Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS) is a statutory corporation established in 1940 under the Institute for Advanced Studies Act of that year. It is a publicly-funded independent centre for research in basic disciplines.
DIAS has three constituent schools:
- The School of Celtic Studies
- The School of Cosmic Physics
- The School of Theoretical Physics
DAIR, (DIAS Access to Institutional Research), is an institutional repository of research publications which showcases the research output of professors, staff and scholars of the Institute.
The repository holds electronic copies of academic papers, which can be either preprints (a working paper or the version of a paper submitted for peer review) or postprints (the final peer reviewed version, which has been accepted for publishing) or similar material such as book chapters, conference papers, working papers, technical reports and so on.
